- Abstract
- A study was performed to develop standards for rubber seals used in solar energy systems. Thirty preformed and liquid applied seals were evaluated in the laboratory using modified ASTM standard test methods to obtain data needed to prepare the standards. Also, studies were performed to develop a test method for determining the effects of outgassing on the transmittance of solar collector covers. The results of the laboratory tests are presented and standards for rubber seals in solar energy systems are proposed.
