- Abstract
- Faulty design of ventilation and heating of large rooms are some times costly to rectify. There is a demand for methods which can be used to achieve the best possible evaluation of design proposals for indoor environments. In this work, methods using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) are described, applied and discused. It is found to be most essential that approximations and boundary conditions to be used in the numerical model are properly applied. It is also found that the computational grid chosen is very important in order to achieve a correct solution. A way of computing and presenting graphical results for thermal comfort, based on CFD-computations, is demonstrated and found easily interpreted.
