Abstract
This Report describes the fire endurance and hose stream tests conducted on a bearing wall assembly consisting of prefabricated building units and constructed as described under the section of this Report titled "Construction of Test Assembly". The object of this investigation was to establish the fire resistance Classification for the wall assembly, erected and constructed of materials conforming in quality and physical properties to those described herein, by means of a fire endurance and hose stream test conducted in accordance with the Standard, "Fire Tests of Building Construction and Materials," UL 263 (ANSI A2.l, ASTM El19, NFPA No. 251). The prefabricated building units are designed to accommodate the placement of reinforced concrete into preformed cylinders within the building units. The cylinders are surrounded by various types of insulating materials. The interior face of the units consists of gypsum wallboard while the exterior face is covered with an architectural aggregate surfacing.
