- Abstract
- This report collects in a unified manner documentation pertaining to the computer code RFIRES developed under the present contract. As well as under several earlier grants. RFIRES is a computer model developed to predict the response of a room to the burning of items within it. The model considers a rectangular room with a single door or window opening to a large reservior of clean air; up to 10 rectangular, box-shaped fuel items can be considered. The documentation includes flow charts, input and output instructions, code listing, summary of physical equations, results of comparisons to experimental fires, sensitivity analyses, and probabilistic descriptions of fuel item burning rates.
