Abstract
Project objective is to develop and experimentally verified physical and mathematical model for the upward steady fire spread over the surface of textile materials. The predictive model will include the effects of: 1) gravitational orientation; 2) ambient atmospheric temperature, pressure and composition; as well as 3) textile weight per unit area, moisture content, and thermochemical properties. The experiments will initially guide the development of the physical and mathematical model, and subsequently verify the predications of the theory.
