- Abstract
- The flame resistant substitute materials program for the manned spacecraft was undertaken to accomplish: 1) find eliminate combustibles from the crew-bay compartments; 2) find a direct substitute for materials in the spacecraft which are fire-prone; 3) improve the characteristics of the substitute materials by development and testing in actual use; 4) establish a specification for material application based on all qualifying evaluations.
