- The format for data on cement materials that is described in this report is intended to aid in the creation of a coherent system of concrete material property databases. This preliminary document is a guide that presents a recommended format for use in computerization of concrete material property data. It addresses the problem of distinguishing one cement from another by providing a logical scheme for organizing and subdividing material characteristics and parameters to create a unique cement material identifier. The organization and structure presented in this proposed format provide a framework for cross-referencing cement properties, data, and other information and is consistent with the principles laid down in the standard guides that have been prepared by ASTM Committee E-49 and which are due to be adopted by American Concrete Institute (ACI) Committee 126. This preliminary document is intended to assist the work of ACI Commitee 126 by providing a draft for use by committee members and others who may offer suggestions for its development. The document has been published on the Internet World Wide Web and will provide additional enhancements to reviews and feedback.
