- Abstract
- Ignition of remote fuel items by thermal radiation from an unwanted fire is the major factor in fire spread over a large area. The surface temperature of th virgin fuel item rises as it absorbs radiative flux from th primary fire, leading to ignition and rapid fire spread over it surface.
