- Abstract
- The velocity and temperature fields were determined for fire induced flows in corridors. The effects of scale, fire size, and doorway openings are presented. Detailed measurements illustrate the complex recirculating three dimensional character of the flow field. Mass flow rates are determined for the doorway openings and to determine the extent of entrainment. A critical Richardson number criterion was used to identify the mixed and stably stratified regions of the flow fiels.
