- Abstract
- An error analysis of the measurement of heat release rate, HRR, in the SP Industry Calorimeter has been carried out. The mean error in HRR is estimated to be 7% in the standard mode of operation. For relative measurements the mean error is 3%. These results are valid for well-ventilated non-sprinklered fires. The errors orginating from the fuel composition, gas flow rate, ambient air humidity and gas analysers have been studied. Heat losses are treated in the Appendix. The largest errors come from the specification of the fuel composition and the water production in the combustion process.
