- Abstract
- Smoldering can produce gases significantly different in composition from those from flaming combustion. Two types of material which are widely used in residences are known to be susceptible to smoldering combustion; upholstered furniture and cellulose insulation. The toxicity of the gases produced from smoldering combustion of furniture materials and celluloe insulation has been studied.
