- Abstract
- We have computed the structure of a sequence of "strained" methane-air stagnation point diffusion flames. The results compare favorably with results obrained experimentally by Tsuji and Yamaoka. Our prediction of the extinction limit is almost identical to that obtained experimentally. In addition, we present composition profiles as a function of "mixture fraction" for a wide range of "scalar dissipation rates" (almost three orders of magnitude) and discuss the effect of scalar dissipation rate on the flame structure.
