- Abstract
- In conclusion we believe that the introduction of the new agent, "Light Water," into newly installed systems and new portable equiment aboard carriers will make a great contribution to safety from fire. These measures when coupled with safer fuels and fuel handling methods and safer ordnance packages, all now being worked on by other naval scientists and engineers, shall truly bring carrier protection to the highest level that modern technology can provide. Even these measures will not be good enough for the future and we intend to push vigorously forward for ever-better materials and methods.
