- Abstract
- This report covers the studies, development, and tests conducted toward the development of an improved agent and hand fire extinguisher for protection against liquid-fuel fires and fires involving electrical hazard. This work was conducted in three phases: Phase A presents the technical studies in the development of bromotrifluoromethane (Halon 1301). Phase B presents the engineering devlopment of the 2-3/4-lb fire extinguisher for the application of bromotrifluoromethane. Phase C presents the cost evaluation and application of bromotrifluoromethane as a fire-extinguishing fluid with the 2-3/4-lb fire extinguisher.
