- Abstract
- Making the best use of wood preservatives needs a rational approach to the specification of preservative treatment. British Standards recommend the most appropriate preservatives and treatment processes for various timber components and the processes to apply them. A different approach is taken in new European Standards which provide support to the Construction Products Directive. These standards are performance based and so specify the results of the treatment rather than the treatment process itself.
