Abstract
The National Fire Protection Research Foundation (NFPRF) sponsored the International Foam-Water Sprinkler Research Project. The objectives of this project were to improve the effectiveness of fire protection systems, reduce costs and minimize environmental concerns associated with use of closed-head foam water sprinkler systems intended to protect flammable liquid warehouses. Task 5 of this research project was intended to develop fire test data for closed-head foam-water sprinkler systems used to protect rack storage configurations of Class IB flammable liquids in 1 and 5 gallon metal containers.
