- Abstract
- The scope of the present investigation was limited to examination of the ways in which houses survived (or were destroyed), and to special features of the fires which appeared unusual. The survey dealt only with happenings in the immediate vicinity of Hobart. One month had passed since the time of the fires: however members of the C.S.I.R.O. Fire Section (Division of Applied chemistry) has visited Tasmania during the period February 9-13, and had gained an early impression of the fire damage over a wide area.
