- A study begun in 1990 by the fire prevention laboratory of the Technical Research Center of Finland on the operation and safe use of flashover simulators in fire brigade training is nearing completion. It has been funded by the fire protection fund and by Brandforsk and Raddningsverket of Sweden. The properties and operating conditions of flashover simulators were measured in practical tests. A safe range for simulator use has been determined from the results, and suitable instructions for trainers are in preparation.
