- DuPont Spallshield is a high performance composite film designed for superior optical, impact and anti-spall performance, with durability commensurate with the value of the glazing to which it is permanently attached during manufacture. Polyester "aftermarket" films are generally regarded as add-on films which can be replaced when they fail, and consequently are not expected to have optial quality, impact performance, or resistance to solar radiation and other environmental weathering factors equivalent to Spallshield. To differentiate Spallshield from these films, a series of comparative tests have been made.
