- Abstract
- The use of bromotrifluoromethane extinguishing agent released at the time of detection of a cargo fire can prevent the occurrence of flash fire, greatly reduce the maximum temperatures, and provide effective fire control for periods of at least two hours. The use of as little as three precent by volume of bromotrifluoromethane can effectively control cargo fires in a compartment with a l0 percent and a 50 percent load configuration.
