- Abstract
- This Test Results Sheet presents the results of initial fire protection system testing conducted on the C-17A aircraft at Edwards AFB, California. Testing were conducted on C-17A S/N 89-1189 (P-3) and 89-1190 (P-4). The testing objectives were to evaluate the performance of the fire protection system and to meet the requirement for initial squadron operation (ISO) use. Specific test objectives were: [*] Determine the agent concentration levels for the engine nacelle and auxiliary power unit compartments; [*] Determine smoke detection response times; [*] Evaluate the drainage patterns of each fire zone; [*] Evaluate the ability of the mainfold leak detection sensor to detect leaks; [*] Evaluate the ability of the fire detection warning system.
