Abstract
This report presents the results of the effort performed by the General Electric Spacecraft Department from 24 April 1967 to 31 December 1967 under contact NAS-W-410 to develop a thermal combustion hazard modeling technique for Apollo Spacecraft hardware. Based on the results presented herein, the technique has been demonstrated to be a valuable tool in aiding in the assessment of the potential fire hazard of Apollo Spacecraft ignition areas and zones. The successful application of this technique will complement engineering judgement with analytical procedures, and utimately will provide a basis for the reduction of costly fire testing.
