- Abstract
- When the need for technical information on underground fallout shelters became apparent, first attention was given to the protection of the occupants from the effects of nuclear radiation and blast. More recently the characteristics of shelter environment related to temperature, humidity, fresh air supply, toxic gases, particulate matter, and odor have been under consideration and a limited amount of experimental work has been completed and reported in the literature.
