- Abstract
- Each year in australia, many firefighters and bystanders are trapped by bushfires and burned to death. In 1939, 73 persons died in a few days and despite the decrease in the mortality rate to less than 10 per year since then, the possibility of even greater disastersis not at all remote. this report gives an analysis of the hazards threatening a trapped person and a description of a survival tent which in tests has proven to be adequate protection.
