Abstract
The United States Air Force Mobility Center will conduct this qualification operational test and evaluation at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, for 6 months. This test will assess the operational effectiveness of the C-5 aircarft pylon fire safety system Class IV modification with emphasis on assessing the ability of the pylon airflow baffle to maintain a reduced oxygen content in the pylon after nitrogen discharge. The test will address one critical operational issue: How well does the pylon airflow baffle maintain a reduced oxygen content in the pylon area?
