- Abstract
- ONLY ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH Tests were performed in a rock tunnel measuring 2.7 m wide, 3 m high and 100 m long. The fire was located 60 m from a chimney located at one end of the tunnel. The tunnel was naturally ventilated through this chimney. Measurements of optical density and gas concentrations were performed 49 m from the fire. Ceiling temperatures were measured at different locations from the fire. Heat release rate was measured in the chimney and by measuring mass burning rate. Four different fuels were used; heptane, heating oil, methanol and wood cribs. The tests indicates that is is possible to correlate gas concentration and optical density and a parameter for the type of fuel must be included in the model. The ceiling temperature decrease rapidly as a function of distance.
