- Abstract
- The Sharon fire killed 3 persons, but considerable physical evidence remained. It apeared that very high CO occurred rapidly in an upstairs bedroom. The fire was successfully simulated in Bldg. 205 in a 7 room two story test, called SHARON2. The data are used to verify (or not) predictions from the FAST 18 and HARVARD 6.3 codes. Experimentally it was found that this large fire in a small structure lead to CO/CO2 ratios as high as 0.5, and that smoke detectors likely would not give adequate warning.
