Abstract
This appendix presents the results of the analysis of fire damage in the city of San Jose, California following the hypothetical "first-interation" attack of the Five-City Study. These results are expressed in terms of the distribution of initial fires and the growth and spread of fire as a function of time up to final burnout. The area analyzed was restricted by the city limits, with no consideration given to surrounding areas other than to be alert to the possibility of fire spreading into unignited areas of the city from contiguous urban concentrations.
