Abstract
A series of rigid polymeric insulation materials were tested using thermogravimetric analysis. The test materials analyzed were: polyurethanes with and without fire retardants, polyisocyanurates, phenol formaldehydes and urea formaldehyde. Tests were made in both inert and air atmospheres at varying heating rates. The apparent kinetic parameters for each foam were determined using Marquardt non-linear parameter estimation algorithms. Contour maps for the kinetic parameters were plotted for a non-flame retardant polyuethane foam material.
